Knowledge management pays for itself.

Knowledge management is about saving time by getting it right ..... first time, every time.

The firm has no doubt collected a wealth of know-how and expertise over the years but probably does not have a way of sharing it efficiently amongst all it's fee earners.

Traditionally the Principal instilled this information into his clerk who followed him around everywhere until enough was learnt to stand on his or her own two feet.

Commercial pressures dictate that a large proportion of the firm's work now needs to be done by junior fee earners.

Knowledge management and an Intranet provide the ideal means to share information, knowledge, precedents, problems and ideas around the firm.

If you have paid for counsel's advice on a point or have drafted a particularly good procedure or document then make it easily available to everyone.

Keeping the knowledge in a central area means all authorised users can find what they want when they want thus saving time and money.

Can you afford not to have an Intranet ?
